demonstrates breadth of experience, strategic and leadership capabilities, and a commitment to
ethical practice. It is a badge of professionalism that colleagues, clients, and the public understand
and trust. The CIPR is the only body in the world that can award chartered status. Chartership is a
professional assessment of skills, knowledge and experience in leadership, strategy and ethics. The
assessment explores how a professional:
 makes strategic decisions
 manages organisational reputation
 resolves ethical dilemmas
 leads communication teams and clients
 thinks at the level of business impact and leadership

To apply for the Chartership assessment, you must:
 be a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations at either:
 MCIPR (Member), or
 FCIPR (Fellow)
 have an active CPD (Continuous Professional Development) record
 be working in or aiming for a strategic PR/communications position

The assessment is:
 a one-day, online process
 lasting approximately from 09:30 to 17:00 GMT
 candidates find out whether they have successfully passed the assessment or not on
the same day
