National Agricultural Conference Slavonika

Throughout history, the negative view towards farmers, the countryside and agriculture have
brought this economically important branch to the very edge of the ruin, and so far it is the largest
unused potential of this area.
The Apriori World agency organized the first national agricultural conference, due to the obvious lack
of discussion on agricultural issues and the exploitation of investments and potentials in this sector.
The goals of this conference are to link all the agricultural chains into one, to familiarize farmers with
sources of funding and distribution of products, and to present new technologies in agriculture to
target groups. Moreover, the organizer's wish is to inform the general public about the opportunities
and challenges in the agricultural sector. Under the motto inspiring agriculture, the Slavonika
Conference connects all target public within the agricultural community and, through the
communication processes, it promotes the improvement of the overall state of the agricultural
sector at all levels; from regional and national to individuals and small farms.
The first Slavonika Conference was held on March 17, 2016, at the Faculty of Agriculture Osijek
(today Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences). Since then, the Conference is held annually with the
support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The conference co-organizers are the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences at the University of Osijek
and the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Zagreb.
